I choose what I become...

8/19/22

hello cherubs!

ree

life isn't always sunshine and rainbows, unfortunately. majority of the time we do not have control of the cards we are given. of course, there are things we can prevent from happening, but at the end of the day, if it's going to happen, there's no stopping it.

growing up, we are typically raised by adults that know what's best for us. they show us the ropes and hopefully teach us the difference between right and wrong. and I am aware that sometimes we aren't all fortunate enough to have guardians to help us. but usually we are shown the ways of the world in one way or another.

but at a certain point in life, we are given the responsibility of taking care of ourselves, making our own decisions. we have two choices: we can either let life decide what to make of us or we can make our own life. we can either go with the punches or fight back.

while we cannot control every detail of our lives, we can control how we react to them. for example, you cannot choose wether or not we get rear ended. on one end of the spectrum, we can get extremely angry and start a fist fight with the person who hit us. OR we can get out of the car calmly, and ask the person if they are okay and then deal with the car situation.

our reactions are everything and they are the main source of life that we have control over. immediate reactions can be something extremely hard to get control over. our brains are hard wired to have reactions to situations at lightning speed. learning to control our reaction will help in most every situation.

once you learn to control your reactions, life is yours. well, in a way. you can control what you allow to affect you. you have the power to say "this is happening and I choose to let it affect me this way." you may not be able to control others, but by having control over yourself will show others that they can do it too.

with that being said, you can then choose what it is you become. no matter what life throws at you, you can be the one in control. you can let something roll off your back and not worry about it, or you can say this is an obstacle and I am going to fight it.

what you decide to become is unique to you and only you. you shouldn't have to compare yourself to others. you can be yourself and not worry about others. your self confidence comes from within, not outward approval.

this journey is a wonderful road to walk. and it starts with self-care and self recognition. when we are in tune with our bodies, our bodies are in tune with us. let us strive to be happier, healthier, kinder human beings.

I hope you enjoyed this blog! I'll see you guys in the next one.
