becoming a better you...

7/12/22

personal development is something that you can never be too young or too old for. from the time that we are born, we are developing the skills that it takes to become the best version of ourselves. healing our minds from the harsh circumstances is crucial to personal development.

for some, it might take years to become who we truly believe we are, and for others, it can be done in a short amount of time. an important thing to note is: healing is not linear.

synonyms for healing can be:

  • feeling at home in your own body

  • holding (not fearing) memories

  • becoming friends with your mind

  • trusting the world as a safe & soft place to belong

  • transforming trauma into story

  • feeling possible again

I think that everyone can always be bettering themselves. being more mindful, more aware of our words and actions, and being more kind and gentle to one another.

today we are going to be discussing ways to personally develop ourselves:

  • share your story

  • be honest with yourself

  • learn to self-reflect

  • figure out who you are and what you want in life

  • take your time

  • forgive yourself and others

  • be compassionate with yourself

  • ask for help

  • find some way to relax

  • remember that healing isn't linear

  • develop new coping skills

  • write down the positive things

  • consider going to therapy

  • practice self-care

  • make a list of things you like about yourself

practicing all or some of these things will really push you to become a better version of yourself. not only will these things help you take care of yourself, but it will also help you take care of those around you.

remember, you never know what someone else is going through behind closed doors, so be kind and take the extra step to show them they are loved.

if you are having a hard time, just know that I am here and rooting for you. you've got this! you don't have to have everything figured out. you have your whole life ahead of you! take your time and enjoy the life you've been given.

I'll see you guys in the next one!
