hey cherubs, how have you been?
this week we will be talking about a book I've recently read. such a good, good book.
the book was titled 'heart bones' by colleen hoover.
I am such a sucker for romance books and colleen hoover. but this book was so so good.
long story short, a broken girl meets a broken boy and they fall in love, but there was a specific quote that suck with me long after finishing the book.
here it is:
no body asks to be broken. no one can determine the cards that this life gives them. we can't magically stop bad things from happening to us.
don't get me wrong, we can protect ourselves in someways: staying out of danger, protecting our health, etc. But there are many things that will happen in our lives that we don't have ability to prevent.
no one asks to be born into a family in poverty.
no one asks to be in a car wreck that causes you to lose a limb.
no one wants to live without their significant other.
no one asks to be given horrible luck.
the only thing that we can gain from being damaged is finding other damaged people and grieving together.
no one wants to be a member of the damaged people club, it's not fun. But finding support when you do fall into that club is significant to being healthy and happy and overcoming that title.
if you fall into this club, know that you aren't alone. you more likely than not know someone very close to you that is damaged.
some people hide it well and some wear it on their sleeves. this is our time to be accepting and gentle with everyone and anyone that you come into contact with.
one of my favorite quotes and you've probably heard it from me before is:
"you never know what someone is going through behind closed doors."
this is one of my favorite quotes because it is so true. people hide their pain and discomfort well. you may think that someone is the most open book, but they could be distracting themselves from what they really are going through.
my most important life goal is to be nice to people. I want to be the person that goes out of my way to include people and make sure they know that they matter.
I pride myself on that and being honest. a little bit can go a long way.
I hope this post helped out someone today. please share it with someone that you think might need it(:
see you guys soon,
xx Loryn
